What characters appear on the ground when someone in the naruto world summons a creature?

that weird stuff that appears when ever naruto or kakashi or anyone tries to summon a creature like the ninja dogs or giant snakes, it looks like weird scribbles but is it really some kind of language? or is it just totally meaningless? i would really appriciate your help.
