Should I have 1 big binder or 6 small ones?

I can't decide whether I want to carry around a small bag and carry a small binder for each cl +1 for homework. Or if I should just do a backpack that i leave in my locker, and have one large binder with dividers for each subject and pockets for my pencils. Last year I did one large binder and became a little disorganized, would an individual binder for each be better?
