Does anyone know of a way or a product that discourages deer from eating garden plants?

I planted dozens of new tulip bulbs last fall and was looking forward to their blooming this spring. But a deer snuck into my yard one night this spring and ate them just as they were getting ready to bloom! Now my hostas are fully grown and have been the target of deer munching in the past. What can I do to stop these midnight marauders?
